Great product - 1/2 of the Solution October 23, 2009 Nathaniel Weiss (07090) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am 42 and sprained my ankle badly playing tennis about three months ago. I have done physical therapy and have started to get back into playing, but still have some pain.
This brace is fantastic. I was able to start playing again and have full support. The best thing is if you have plantar fasciitis - the straps underneath give you a great deal of support.
The other half of the solution, though, is an Aircast A60. This is great for walking around - but doesn't offer the requisite support that the McDavid brace does for playing. The problem with the McDavid is that it's a bit much for non-sports use. I now have both the McDavid and Aircast and am very happy.
Comfortable and secure fit December 23, 2007 Andrew Mohit (California) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this brace back in Spring of 06. I played volleyball and during a game I sprained my left ankle real bad. The following night my ankle was the size of a grapefruit. I was out for a few weeks and I knew I needed to find an ankle brace fast. I found the McDavid Ultralight at my nearest Sporting store. I tried the brace on and it feels comfortable and tight. Depending on what sport and shoe you wear the brace should fit just fine with a few twists and turns to get your foot secured. Overall a great product.
This is a good brace July 31, 2008 Ryan Hamm 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This brace is exactly the same as the brace given to me by my orthopedist after my grade III ankle sprain.
It's just like taping up the ankle but with velcro so you can do it over and over again.
If this brace won't save your ankle then nothing will.
All the bells and whistles without the bulk July 2, 2010 FastOrange 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got in a vehicle accident that left me with a small break in my ankle and most of the ligaments seriously sprained. After surgery, several fiberglass casts and an air splint I needed something for extra support. This brace works great! It takes a little time to get on, but provides really good support, tightness and is very adjustable. I find this provides better support and comfort than the doctor prescribed air splint that was double the price. It can easily be worn for a few hours but is uncomfortable for me all day long without taking it off for a break. The best part is how well it fits in shoes. It's basically like wearing a thick sock and i've fit it into even my slimmest shoes without a problem.
The sizing chart was spot on. Get one and don't waste your time with the cheaper ones...especially the neoprene junk.
Good Support May 8, 2010 B. Moser (Ohio) This is my third set of ankle braces and they fit good, and have great support. i have had others but they start to fall apart after awhile. These are holding up pretty compared to my other two. Overall a good bye
