Amazon.com Product Description Made of genuine high-quality leather, the Everlast leather medicine ball is the same classic training tool that helped develop the greatest boxers who ever lived. A good medicine ball is ideal for plyometric weight training, which increases explosive power in the muscles and strengthens your core. As a result, you can strengthen and sculpt your entire body, including your upper body, lower body, and abdominal area. The medicine ball's inverted seams are also lock-stitched and nylon sewn for maximum durability. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, the medicine ball weighs 11 to 12 pounds. About Everlast Although the name Everlast is synonymous with boxing, the company actually started out as a swimwear manufacturer in the Bronx in 1910. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, 17-year-old Jacob Golomb grew dissatisfied with the flimsy swimsuits of the time, which barely lasted a season. In response, he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name "Everlast," and although the swimsuits did not last throughout history, the name did. In subsequent years, Golomb transformed his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more that 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. In 1919, Dempsey won the world heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb, and shortly afterward, Everlast became the boxing equipment headquarters throughout the world. Dedicated to leveraging the unique qualities represented by the Everlast brand--strength, dedication, individuality, and authenticity--the Everlast brand is now present in more than 101 countries and has 88 licenses worldwide.
Product Description Exactly what the pro's use! Authentic leather medicine balls for upper and lower body workouts! Ideal for medicine ball training, exercises, drills and workouts.

What it do? February 17, 2010 Z. Ortwein Medicine balls have lasted from antiquity till the present day because they're highly effective. To achieve the full benefit of medicine ball training, you need an old-school mb like this one--not a new-age one. The modern mb's (Valeo, etc) are made of texturized rubber, like a cheap basketball. More importantly, they have a hard shell casing, which doesn't permit movement of the interior components. This ability of the inside to shift is key for engaging your muscles when squeezing the ball, dropping it on your abs, throwing it, etc. The beauty of the medicine ball is its simplicity--why change what has been proven to work for 3000+ years? This Everlast MB is well-constructed from decent-quality leather. I use it six days a week in high-intensity applications. It has thus far exceeded my expectations in regards to durability and overall quality. As previously stated by other reviewers, the logo is not sewn on; it is painted on and looks different. I would definitely reccommend this product for anyone looking to tone their muscles, improve flexibility and stamina and have an overall fun workout.
Good quality August 10, 2008 C's Mom 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband gets a lot of use out of this when he works out. It's good quality and has held up well for the past year.
Just what I needed September 8, 2009 Joseph Paul Sklar (Louisiana) This is a god product with just the right weight to supplement my training. Note that in the picture of this ball it has the yellow label. The ball you receive has a white stamped label on it. some have noted that this is synthetic leather and it is. If you are going to be using this around the house it will make a perfect item for you.
this is a good ball April 29, 2010 randomm82 (Pa) solid seams, stitching is fine. not perfectly spherical, but that's expected since it's not a rubber medicine ball. mine also has a white painted logo rather than the yellow one pictured. that's not a complaint, just an observation. i anticipate being able to get lots and lots of use out of this ball.
Not Leather! October 14, 2008 K. Tipton (Ohio) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I received the ball and everything is OK with it. However, it is advertised as a leather ball, it is synthetic leather. I'm sure it would do a fine job, but if you are looking for a leather medicine ball this is not the one.
