These are the same set of medicine balls my personal trainer uses. I LOVE them. They are bumpy rubber like a basketball and roughly the same size. The 12 & 10 lb. are about the size of a basketball, while the 8 & 6 lb. are slightly smaller, and 4 & 2 lb. just a bit smaller than that. It seems like such an easy workout but surprisingly you can really feel the workout in your core. They are NOT the same as the Weighted Fitness Ball which is about the size of a softball. My whole family uses these medicine balls, it is a great workout we can all do together.

I really like this ball. It adds a whole new series of possible exercises to your workout.
I like keeping the ball fully-inflated and extra firm, but it is possible to partially deflate it and have a much softer ball. The product description does not include this information.
Plus, decent price and and free shipping on a 12-pound item makes this a 5-star review.

Great for Abdominal Exercises! January 25, 2010

I received this medicine ball for Christmas and I have made great use out of it since. I have fairly strong abdominal muscles, so the 12-pound weight works great for me because I am able to perform exercises on the floor with it without being too easy or too hard.
Medicine Balls are fantastic for many different exercises, so one is very good to have. As a warning if you do not have strong abdominal muscles yet, I would start off you a fairly lighter weight like a 6-pound or 8-pound ball to start out.
Overall, I would rate the Valeo MB Medicine Balls (and weight) a definite 100% 5 Star Rating because any medicine ball can weight what it should, however what I like best about the Valeo MB Medicine Balls is their grip. They have a grip like a basketball, making it easy to hold on to the ball while performing any exercise.

This ball is exactly what I needed - well built, normal colors that does not distract, and rubber is not too irritating on the skin. For me, money well spent.
I'm a swimmer and I use this ball to build my core and strength. It's a very useful component of my dry land training.
